Gerhard Bütschi has conducted multiple training and skill sharing projects for governments and corporations, including a multi-year project of training all communication management officers of the Government of Tanzania (President’s Office and 26 Ministries).
Gerhard studied business and private law at the University of Bern, Switzerland where he earned a Licentiate in Business Administration (equivalent of Masters Degree), followed by a Ph.D. He then worked for a Swiss bank (Solothurner Kantonalbank) as a product manager for all domestic credit and loan services. He was promoted to Vice President and served as the deputy of the bank’s credit and loan division.
Gerhard then developed a strong interest in strategic communication management while writing up his doctoral thesis. This interest coupled with further academic work led to domestic and international teaching assignments at universities in Europe, South Africa and USA. Gerhard now coordinates and oversees the operations of La Salle University, USA in Basel, Switzerland – developing communication management curriculae, professional development and capacity building workshops, and online training courses.
The focus of Gerhard’s consultancy work lies on organisational development, corporate/strategic communication management, design and implementation of technology (software) based management information systems, risk and issues management, crisis communication, reputation management and corporate governance.
