The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research [CSIR] and IT giant Hewlett Packard have announced the development of a system that would provide affordable health care to the rural poor and at the same time facilitate faster discovery of drugs for various diseases.
The system is based on a truly innovative combination of the latest in IT and scrap metal containers. Cloud computing (computers located in vast data centres connected to the facility by broadband Internet) and standard shipping containers, which have become unusable for normal freight movement.
