I would like to tell you a little bit about how my trip and the special series came about. I am an associate at Baird’s CMC and also run my own consulting agency, Fundamento, which is based out of Brazil. A few months ago, we realized that we have been coordinating international communications projects in Latin American countries for over 15 years. We decided that since working regionally and coordinating with other countries are such an integral part of our work, we should find out more about these societies and their trends. We should also strengthen our ties with local partners, acknowledging their contributions to past projects and developing future cooperation. These are my two objectives for the Latin American tour.
My colleague at Baird’s CMC, Mark Chataway suggested that I write a blog about the trip. “Let’s tell everybody what we know about Latin America,” he said to me. In the first stage, which covers two weeks, I am going to visit four countries: Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela. There will be two more stages at a later date.
I hope I’m up to the task of bringing you all a little part of my experiences. Have fun!
Signing off,
Marta Dourado
