Baird’s CMC provides strategic council, hands-on support, and media and communications guidance for governments and global organisations in their relations with international organisations such as the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, Pan American Health Organization, the U.S. Export-Import Bank, etc.
Project example: In 2010, Baird’s CMC supported South Africa and their national electric utility, Eskom, in securing a multi-billion dollar loan from the World Bank. The loan will help increase energy supplies to Southern Africa through the continent’s largest power plant and the world’s largest solar project. Baird’s CMC approach included acting as one of Eskom’s Washington representatives to the World Bank, serving as the media liaison for international press, and clarifying critical issues in the weeks before Bank approval.
