Terry Mandel is a veteran communications strategist, organizational designer, leadership mentor, educator, and speaker. Long a thought partner for leaders who value systemic approaches to critical business issues and designing, building, and leading sustainable organizations, she helps clients bridge the gaps between their aspirations, operations, and communications.

At the start of her career, Terry built an award-winning marketing, advertising, and public relations boutique agency, serving clients in healthcare, technology, and the arts. Recognizing the all-too-common disconnect between aspirations and operations, she integrated strategy, organizational design, development, change, and leadership into her scope of work.

Collaborating with medtech innovators, healthcare delivery systems, and intermediaries/facilitative bodies to leverage resources and opportunities, Terry facilitates dialogues that amplify and focus individual, team, and organizational intelligence on meaningful outcomes.

In recent years, she has worked closely with diverse stakeholders committed to improving access to biomedical innovation effective in resource-constrained settings, domestically and globally. Focus areas include the interoperability of rapid point-of-care diagnostics, developing viable and sustainable supply chains in low-resource settings, and facilitating the development and adoption of product and process innovations that offer end-to-end solutions in infrastructure-poor areas.

Terry has been a mentor for the Global Social Venture Competition since 2010 and UCB’s LAUNCH Incubator since 2016, and was a regional judge for the 2014 $1MM Hult Prize focused on business solutions to manage chronic disease in urban slums.

She has lectured at UC Berkeley College of Engineering, Stanford Graduate School of Business, and California College of the Arts Design Strategy MBA Program, among others, and been published in The New Paradigm in Business, Executive Excellence, Business Ethics, and San Francisco Business Times. Terry’s pioneering work on marketing with integrity led to an appearance on ABC News Nightline with Ted Koppel.

As a speaker and educator, Terry has enthralled audiences in the U.S. and abroad with her special blend of insight, humor, and heart. Drawing on her unusually wide training, professional and life experience, she inspires audiences to tackle their toughest issues with newfound skill, confidence, and creativity.
